A Disciple Serves God’s Kingdom
Tuesday, April 29
“The Disciple” is a series of sermons preached from the Gospel of Mark. The sermons in this series will guide our Community Group meetings in April. The desire is for every person at Grace to consider the following questions.
- What does it mean to follow Jesus?
- Am I a follower of Jesus?
- As a follower of Jesus, are there parts of my life that must change?
- Can the church help me follow Jesus
Reflection on Congregational Prayer Meeting
Monday, April 28
Grace has asked church members to give an account of participating in the Future Grace Phase 2 Campaign. In this edition, Matt McCullough reflects on yesterday’s Congregational Prayer Meeting.
by Matt McCullough
Have you ever wondered—perhaps when a moment of self-honesty breaks into the patterns, the normal, the usual—why do we pray, or what is actually accomplished? I have. Or how about this: if God is always in control and works all things for our good even when we don’t know what to ask for, what’s the point of prayer? I got a chance to reflect on questions like these—on the meaning and purpose of prayer—at the Future Grace Prayer Gathering Sunday afternoon. Here are a few of my thoughts.

The Heart of Discipleship
Sunday, April 27

A seven-week series about following Jesus Christ in the world. Discipleship involves a leader (Jesus), followers (Christians), and a way of living (all that Jesus commanded). Sunday sermons and Wednesday evening Community Group discussions are devoted to this topic.
The Disciple’s Heart
Part 5 of 7
Mark 8-10
Scott Patty

What does it mean to be a disciple? A disciple loves Jesus from the heart rather than merely following man’s traditions. Jesus wants the gospel to penetrate deeper into the heart of the disciple and broader into the world.
Future Grace Celebration Concert
Friday, April 25
Sunday, May 11, 6pm
Make sure you put this event on your calendar so that you and your family can enjoy a celebration of what God has done in our lives during Future Grace Phase Two. The concert will feature some of Grace Community Church’s best singer/songwriters. These are people you may have heard about but perhaps haven’t gotten the chance to see them perform live. They each have a heart to use their gifts to God’s glory, and you will leave wanting to hear more.
Look for biographies and quotes from the artists on the Future Grace website the week before the concert, and come ready to enjoy an evening of music, fun and celebration. And don’t forget to bring some extra cash in case you’d like to leave with some CDs.
Childcare will be provided for infants through 3 year olds. If you plan to use childcare, please email futuregracersvp@gccnashville.org.
Good Options for Giving
Friday, April 25
Here’s an issue that came up in conversation this week. In light of the Future Grace Giving Campaign, how do we think about the various opportunities we have to give money to other very good causes?
In a church where ministry is happening, money is needed for many things. There are ongoing ministry needs and special projects like building construction. When people in a church catch a vision for how God can use them, they sometimes launch out to do big things for God’s glory on their own. This brings financial needs for things like mission trips, adoptions, and funding for ministries not connected to a local church. So, what do we do when we have the opportunity to give to many different places?
