A Disciple Loves God’s Word
“The Disciple” is a series of sermons preached from the Gospel of Mark. The sermons in this series will guide our Community Group meetings in April. The desire is for every person at Grace to consider the following questions.
- What does it mean to follow Jesus?
- Am I a follower of Jesus?
- As a follower of Jesus, are there parts of my life that must change?
- Can the church help me follow Jesus?
Groups will begin this journey with tonight’s discussion, “A Disciple Loves God’s Word.” We will discuss the relationship between the disciple (the follower of Jesus) and the Bible (the Word of God). You can prepare yourself for tonight’s discussion by doing the following:
- Pray: Ask God to prepare you to hear from Him. Pray through the four questions listed earlier in this email. Pray that God would work in the lives of other people in your Community Group and at Grace.
- Read: Mark 4:1-20 will be the text that guides our discussion this evening. Read this text to prepare yourself.
- Consider: These questions will be asked tonight. Consider your answers to them in advance.
Discussion Questions:
- A disciple is one who follows Jesus Christ. What does it mean to follow Jesus? What does following Jesus look like?
- Why must a disciple love the Word of God?
- If we truly love the Word of God, what practical actions will become a part of our lives?
- What hindrances prevent you from seeking Jesus Christ in the Word of God?
- What practical steps can we take to seek Jesus in the Word of God?
- Is your life characterized by a love for God’s Word? What changes do you need to make.
