A Disciple Serves God’s Kingdom

“The Disciple” is a series of sermons preached from the Gospel of Mark. The sermons in this series will guide our Community Group meetings in April. The desire is for every person at Grace to consider the following questions.

• What does it mean to follow Jesus?
• Am I a follower of Jesus?
• As a follower of Jesus, are there parts of my life that must change?
• Can the church help me follow Jesus

Groups will continue this journey with Wednesday’s discussion, “A Disciple Serves God’s Kingdom.” We will discuss the disciple’s calling to serve God’s kingdom. You can prepare yourself for tonight’s discussion by doing the following:

• Pray: Ask God to prepare you to hear from Him. Pray through the four questions listed earlier in this email. Pray that God would work in the lives of other people in your Community Group and at Grace.
• Read: Mark 8 will be the text that guides our discussion this evening. Read this text to prepare yourself.
• Consider: These questions will be asked tonight. Consider your answers to them in advance.

Discussion Questions:

• Read Mark 8:34. What does it mean to follow Jesus?
• What is the relationship between following Jesus and serving God’s kingdom?
• What are practical ways that Jesus would have us serve the kingdom of God? Let the group explore ways to obey Jesus by serving the kingdom of God.
• How can the group pray for you regarding service, ministry, and evangelism?
